The Harvard Club of New York Library - The Chapman Youth Library at the Coney Island YMCA
Coney Island, New York USA
The YMCA Centers located within all the boroughs of New York City have long served as a place where children and adults can find recreation, guidance, and support. The Chapman Perelman Foundation and the Harvard Club of New York is working with the Leaders of the YMCA to propose the creation of a Library within the YMCA facilities, to help bring valuable learning resources and programs to the neighborhood children during the day, and to adults during the evenings.
BDG was selected to design the first Library to be installed within the YMCA at Coney Island. Once this prototype is completed and tested, then additional Libraries can be designed to be integrated into the other YMCA Centers of New York City.
