Sea Island - G8 2004 Summit Venue
Sea Island, Georgia, USA
The Owner of the Sea Island Company wanted to ensure an uncompromised level of support to the planning process and design for hosting the G8 Summit. This world-class event required a custom heirloom-quality conference table be designed as the centerpiece for the meetings with the Heads of State and Prime Ministers.
Baker Design Group was asked to design the table, and collaborate with Federal Agencies, the G8 Summit Committee, the Secret Service, local craftsmen, and technology engineers. The goal was to carefully craft furniture for the G8 Meeting Venue with beautifully integrated technology, providing an elegant working environment for the leaders where the world media could capture their every word and gesture.
Within the new Sea Island Hotel there is a G8 Meeting Room that celebrates the historically important event that took place at the Sea Island Resort.
